'Premium Perlite' is a very course grade of perlite.
Perlite is the generic name for 'siliceous rock' which is a type of volcanic glass.
When heated this rock expands and 'pops' to create a white porous, light weight substance that is ideal for horticultural use.
'Premium Perlite' comes in a distinctive yellow bag and has much less dust then other brands.
The course grade provides an ideal balance between air porosity and water retention.
It is well suited to recirculating or gravity fed systems.
Despite having less dust it is still recommended that either a mask is used or it is wet when handling.
This is a 100litre bag and weighs approximately 6kg.
